SO TELEVISION, BBC, AIRHEADS

AIRHEADS

BRIEF

SO Television embarked on an ambitious venture to craft an innovative TV show centered around the cutting-edge world of drones. However, they faced a significant challenge: transforming this visionary idea into a feasible reality. Recognizing our unmatched expertise in designing and operating stunt model helicopters and drones, they enlisted our assistance as consultants right from the inception of the concept. Our responsibilities extended to creating the futuristic 'Hero Drone,' formulating comprehensive health and safety protocols for drone operation and maintenance, and leveraging our skilled stunt pilots to ensure the capture of top-quality footage for the BBC pilot.

Robo Challenge played a pivotal role in this venture. We provided essential consultancy services, engaged in 3D CAD design and rendering, employed 3D printing for critical components, harnessed custom software, utilised airbrushing techniques, implemented remote control and electronic systems, and showcased our prowess in aerial stunt piloting. Our multidisciplinary approach allowed us to address the diverse challenges associated with creating a ground-breaking drone-based TV show.

WHAT WE DID

The outcome was nothing short of extraordinary. We crafted an unprecedented one-hour pilot, showcasing to the BBC the immense potential of drone-centric television programming. This pilot not only presented a novel format but also featured breathtaking stunts that pushed the boundaries of what could be achieved with drones. Importantly, the high-tech house drone shoot featured exclusively genuine footage, solidifying the show's innovative nature and setting a remarkable precedent for drone-based entertainment.
