BISHOPSGATE BOLT
BRIEF
Equinox, renowned for its high-performance lifestyle offerings, embarked on an exciting venture known as the 'Bishopsgate Bolt.' This initiative was designed to challenge City workers by placing them in a virtual race against the world's fastest sprinter. The action unfolded right in the heart of the City, providing participants with a unique opportunity to test their speed.
Robo Challenge played a pivotal role in this project, contributing to the design and creation of the 'Bishopsgate Bolt' sprint track. This innovative track spanned 20 meters and featured two lanes. Its primary purpose was to measure each participant's 10-meter sprint time. The second lane boasted LED chevrons that illuminated to display the time required for the world's fastest runner to cover a distance of 10 meters. Cutting-edge laser technology was employed to record each participant's sprint time, and bespoke software facilitated the real-time comparison of these times with the fastest individual on the planet.
WHAT WE DID
The 'Bishopsgate Bolt' was a resounding success, with athlete Thom Evans being the first to take on the challenge, completing it in 10.93 seconds, a mere 1.35 seconds behind the current world record. This unique sprint track experience engaged City workers, allowing them to test their sprinting prowess while experiencing the thrill of competing against the world's best. The innovative use of technology and live league tables added to the excitement, making it a memorable event for all participants.
