RECORE MACK

BRIEF

To launch the Xbox One exclusive game ReCore, London-based PR agency Assembly Media aimed to bring the game's star character, Mack the canine corebot, to life. Mack, known for his world-saving adventures, was to be portrayed during his day off.

To achieve this, we initiated the Robo Challenge. Our objective was to ensure Mack resembled a true-to-game replica. Given the complexities of canine joints and the gravity-defying nature of the in-game character, we faced significant challenges. Our team embarked on designing an internal skeleton equipped with 12 motors for Mack's legs and integrated electronics. Custom-made gearboxes were crafted to conceal mechanical components while providing thestrength needed for Mack's movements and bearing his weight. Subsequently, the skeleton served as the foundation for over 1000 hours of 3D printing, meticulously creating the bodywork. Each intricate detail was then hand airbrushed to perfection.

The results were truly remarkable. Mack's portrayal was an uncanny match to his in-game counterpart, resulting in the creation of captivating content. Mack also had the opportunity to interact with his fans at Game stores across the country, generating substantial media attention.
